With our last website, we realised fairly early on that it was far too complicated to personalise a product so we decided to do something about it. We have made it a lot more straightforward to try and personalise and purchase a product in our online shop. In this blog, I will go through the new process of personalising a product on our website.
You have the option of viewing our categories on our home page. We have different categories such as Accessories, Birthdays and Weddings as shown in the image below. When special occasions come along such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas we will have special categories where you will find products suitable for those occasions.
New In Categories
On our home page, you can also see what new products we have in. You are able to click on them and start personalising straight away.
You will see here some products that we recommend. Products in this category will change every week so keep an eye out!
You will see here what has been selling the best. This will change whenever there is a sale on the website or with people making purchases in person.
Now onto our shop page. Our products are now showcased in rows over 3 pages which is simple to navigate through.
When you find the product you want then you have the option of viewing the product in Quick View or going straight into the product. The difference is shown below –
When you go into a product, in the example below I have used the Teddy Bear. In this example, we have different options for you to choose from. Firstly you will need to choose the different sizes and depending on what size you choose the price will change under the Teddy image text at the bottom of the image below.
Next, if you want text on the Teddy T-Shirt then the text box is there for you to type in what you want. The colour of the teddy is a simple drop-down menu with for this example two different options but for different products, it could be more.
Next, if you require any additional information such as text or image placement then that can go in the additional info text box. If you want an image on your teddy t-shirt then you can upload one to the image field or if you want us to find one for you, you can put that in the additional info box. Then you are ready to add to cart.
Once you hit add to cart a green banner will appear like below and then you can go back to the shop and continue shopping or you can view the items in your cart.
If you hit view cart then you will see this page. You can see what you have entered in the previous page and you can change how many you want. If you do update any information then you will need to hit update cart to update the price. Next, you can either choose to have your item shipped to you or you can pick it up in our unit. The shipping option will add more to the cost. Now you proceed to check out if you are happy.
Now on the checkout page, you enter your details such as your address, phone number and email address. We need this information such as phone number and email address so we can contact you when the order is completed. We will not keep your information unless you create an account and you enter that information.
For to make a payment the only option right now is to proceed by PayPal. However, you DO NOT need a PayPal account to make a purchase. When you hit proceed to PayPal you will have the option to either pay with your own PayPal account or via debit or credit card. If you don’t have a PayPal account then choose the debit or credit card option and fill out the form like any other site you would buy from.
