Designed For You

Further to winning a Dunfermline Press Community Champion Award for 2025

in Health and Care, Re-Employ continue their great work supporting members

of the Fife disabled community with the introduction of a four-week work-based

provision which has been designed to help young adults, who have health

barriers or disabilities which are impacting their journey to work. It has been

created to improve their confidence and transferrable skillset.

The course is called Designed For You and was co-produced with Brag

Enterprises to support people aged 16 to 24 to develop practical skills in the

creative industry where they learn how to design and produce a range of items

including t-shirts, mugs, badges and embroidered patches. The first candidates

completed the pilot programme of activities today with a celebration to

showcase their achievements. This event was attended by family members,

representatives from Fife Council, the DWP, and key workers from Brag

Enterprises as well as several board members from Re-Employ.

One of the young people commented: “The course has made me feel less

anxious and proud of myself.” The course facilitator told us that the focus here

is very much on what individuals CAN do and is designed to strengthen

confidence through practical work and achievement.

Re-Employ and Brag Enterprises look forward to offering this course on a

regular basis to anyone within Fife who is currently not working and has a

health condition / disability which acts as a barrier to work.
